Topic #6 - Biggest Lesson this Semester

The biggest lesson this semester for me is learn to stay away from my smart phone. Because this smart phone make me feel stupid sometimes. In the morning, I unlocked my phone, what I was thinking is just check my mailbox, but then I just checked Facebook, we chat, and everything. After I realize the time I have already don't have time for breakfast. When I came back home from school, I remember that I have a lot of homework to do. But once I open my phone I forget everything...when I realize that I still have homework to do, it is already time to go to bed. Then I have to stay up very late to do the homework. Now I try to force myself to stay away from my phone. And I think things are going better. However, smart phone is not completely useless, it is way easier than carry a laptop running around everyday.

Topic #5 My Favorite Place

My favorite place is a park that I lived near by when I was a child. There were a lot of phoenix trees all over the park.  There were also a small river went through the park. Those big big trees can cover the summer's hot sky. I spent  almost all my summer play with my friends in that park. I learned how to ride bicycle in that park. I learned how to fishing in that park...I learned so many things  that I can not count. That place is a big part of my childhood, and I still dream about it sometime.

Topic #4 - Major

My major is Economic, I choose this major mostly because that my father is a businessman. I am kind of interested in this area since I was in high school. After that try to learn more about it by myself, but I feel it is not enough; therefore I decided to major in economic. I am  pursuing a Bachelor's degree , and because of  I also interested in biology I am thinking about to take double major. I know I may be very hard to major in these two completely different area, so I am still considering about it. It will be great if I can get a Master's Degree in the future; however a PhD is kind of too much for me.

Topic #3 Obstacles

The obstacle that I am overcoming right now is to learn how to drive. Although I have practiced a little before I came here, I still can not drive in California. The speed of motor vehicle is much more faster than my hometown, and I just easy to get nervous  when I get in the car.I do not know why, but control a car is just not easy for me. Maybe I need more practice to get used to drive. I hope I can overcome this obstacle very very soon~!

Topic #2 Spring Break Adventures

The Spring Break is over, and I already start to miss it. I did enjoy this Spring Break though I did not  some significant things to do.  Everyday during this break I woke up around noon without worried about alarm clock. Then I have lunch. I usually watch TV in the afternoon, and the talk to my family in China on the phone at night. These may sound kind of boring, but I personaly really enjoy it.

My roommate took me to the DMV in Fullerton on April 2 . I took my drive license paper test that day, and I have to say it was pretty easy. I hope the road test would be that easy as well. I also went to Brea Mall with my friend twice, and bought some awesome stuff. That is almost everything that I did during Spring Break.

Topic #1 Spring Break 2013

           Spring break is coming very soon, and I really can not wait for it. I do not have a big plan for this break because I just want to stay at home and relax. This long long break is undoubtedly a good chance to give myself a breath, and to do something that I really want to do, such as sleep for a whole day, haha.
          However, I do have some important things to do during spring break, I have made an appointment to take the drive license paper test. I hope I can pass it. If I can pass it, I will start to learn how to drive in a real car. If I can drive a car in the future, I would like to travel around by myself. That would be wonderful~

Topic #2 The strangest thing

         The strangest thing that I have ever eaten must be scorpion. Scorpion is a kind of insect which looks scary, and some of them are poison. In my country, this insect could be used as a ingredient of medicine. One of my deskmate in my middle school eat fried scorpin as medicine everyday. I can not stop to look at her everytime I saw her eat it bacause that insect looks so strange. Seeing her eats them so easily is kind of scare me at first, and she also told me it taste good which make things worse. Somehow, I get used to see her eat them after a while, how fearful could them be after they been fired. Once she ask me if I want to try one, and you guess what? I did it! I tried one, and I have to say it was not taste so bad. Anyway, I am not going to eat it again, it is still insect to me.

Topic # 5 I can not live without...

            I can not live without computer, or more directly say I can not live without Internet.
I think for most people who living in 21 century, Internet has became a dispensable part of life. Everyday, the first thing I am going to do when I arrive home is open my computer. Think back then, I rarely live without computer, and I do not think I can live without it in the future.
            I use my computer not just for fun but also study. For entertainment, I usually use my computer to watch TV, listen to music, check my social network, and also play computer games on my computer. For study, I do homework, read textbook, find study resources on the internet, and also communicate with other students on my computer. Sometimes I don't want to go out, but I need to buy something; however, I can just buy them on my computer. Computer has bring me so much convenience, but as an old saying goes:" Every coin has two sides." Maybe computer also bring me some disadvantage that I have not notice yet while it convenience me.

Topic #4 Which language.

         If I could be instantly fluent in another language, I would choose Russian. Mostly because that Russina has the biggest territory in the world. Also, Russia has many non-renewable resources that means it may has more right to speak in the world in the future. For now, Russia is still developing in many different types of area; therefore, there are must have a lot of opputunities for people who can translate Russian to another language.World is getting more connected than 10 years ago, so the people who can speak two or more different kinds of language would be easier to find a job.

           However, Russia is always be one of my favorite conturies in the world, also I am kind of afraid of their cold weather. If I can speak Russian fluently, I would go on a vacation to Russia without thingking~(or may be just think about how many cloth  that I should take with...)

Topic Which holiday has the most meaning for you?Why?

The holiday that I spend with my parents at Beidaihe has the most meaning for me . Because my father is a very busy businessman,we rarely have a family holiday together, so this holiday means a lot for me and my family. Before we leave,we put our pets to a friend to take care of, and then we just set off.

At first, we have considered to take an airplane or take a train to there. Then we just change our mind, we decided to drive, and we definitely made a right decision. We saw the beauty of natural during our way which the plane and the train can not show us. Then we arrived that beautiful and quite place. We lived in a hotel near the sea, and I can see the sea if I open my window. We stayed 10 more days in Beidaihe. We have taked lots of funny pictures , and ate lots of delicious food. During that time ,I try to learn how to swim and  has drunk a lot of seawater, but I failed at the end. However, it did not effect the fun of this trip.

Now every time I think back, this trip just still like happended yesterday.

Topic #3 Money, Power, or Fame?

For me, the three things that metioned in the title" Fame" may be the least important one. Not just because I personly do not want to get too much attention, but also I think the people who are famous are living a kind of life that rarely has privacy.I mean,  it may feel good when you show up in a movie, but it may not feel so nice when your life start to been shoot like a movie. I think everyone needs some privacy no matter famous or not.
On the one hand, if someone are really powerful or rich, to be famous maybe not a hard thing to them. On the other hand,not all the famous people are powerful or rich even if they want. These are the reason why I think the 'Fame' is the least important above these three.

Topic#1 Who am I

My name is Yifan Zhu. I born in Henan,China. I don't have brothers or sisters, that means I am the only child in my family. I like video games, and I can play it for a whole day~ I also like animals, I have two cats,one dog, and one ribbit in my home in China. I think they will miss me because I have already leave them for 6 mounths,haha~I want to be a homeless animals volunteer one day, to help the homeless animals as much as I can.

Six months ago, I came to United States alone.It is little bit hard for me at first,and I feel homesick,I miss my parents and my friends. However, every thing is getting better day by day. I think I will be able to study in Cal State Fullerton 5 months later. As a international student is not easy to get a good grade, but I really hope I can, which means I have to try my best to achieve my goal.
